Lionel Messi is not considering a loan move to Barcelona or Saudi Arabia.

The Inter Miami star had been linked with a short-term move away from MLS during the league’s offseason, with the Herons – who failed to qualify for the postseason – playing their last regular season match on October 21.

But according to Fabrizio Romano, Messi has his ‘full focus’ on Miami and Argentina as he gears up for a relatively busy November.

After the end of the MLS season, Messi is expected to face Uruguay and Brazil in World Cup qualifiers.

And reports have suggested that Miami will travel to China and Japan to play a pair of post-season friendlies.

Inter Miami will depart on November 2 for the matches. The matches against Uruguay and Argentina will be on November 16 and 21 respectively.

Messi will then have time off in December before beginning preseason in January, with MLS’ regular season kicking off in February.

Marca previously reported that Saudi Pro League officials were keen to lure him away from MLS on a six-month loan, meaning he would be able to return to Inter in time for their 2024 campaign.

Additionally, Miami ‘could be willing’ to let him join Barcelona in January.

Before his historic move to Miami, Messi turned down an eye-watering financial package to play in Saudi, which would have brought him at least $400million.

His rival Ronaldo opted to accept the country’s riches, putting pen to paper on a $200m-a-year contract with Pro League team Al-Nassr at the start of the year.

Miami’s remaining league matches will be a home and road set against Charlotte October 18 and 21.
