Arsenal icon, Lauren has defended his former side after they were criticised for wildly celebrating their 3-2 comeback win over Bournemouth last Saturday.
The league leaders found themselves two goals down at the Emirates to the side bottom of the table with an unlikely defeat set to put a serious dent in their title aspirations.
But goals from Thomas Partey and Ben White brought the score level before Reiss Nelson fired home a stunning winner in the 97th minute.
The win has kept Arsenal five points clear of Manchester City, who had beaten Newcastle United earlier that day, at the top of the Premier League.
Nelson’s goal, unsurprisingly, sparked huge celebrations amid the home fans and the players, with the winger joined on the pitch by Arsenal’s substitutes and non-playing staff before the final whistle.
These celebrations drew some criticism but more importantly they have garnered the attention of the Football Association, who as of Monday are now investigating the incident after it was referenced in the report submitted by referee Chris Kavanagh’s after the game.
But former Gunners defender, Lauren saw nothing wrong at all and even added that Mikel Arteta’s should be getting praised more for their performance, exclusively telling Ladbrokes Fanzone: ‘There was nothing over the top about Arsenal’s celebrations against Bournemouth.
‘When you’re losing at home 0-2, you’re top of the table and you know that it’s a big game with big pressure, people don’t realise how big the pressure is to be there losing 0-2 to bounce back and win the game.
